How can we revitalize the perception of a brand by empowering and enticing millennials to engage in a new digitally intuitive way? In conjunction with the launch of Lancôme’s two biggest products for the millennial market, we set out to revitalize the perception of the brand through a multi-city traveling pop-up. Beyond being an activation targeted to a younger customer base, we conceived the pop-up as a test-bed for future in-store technology. We designed and developed a Smart Vanity Mirror with Facial Recognition and a Gestural Interface for effortless interaction and product trial.

The Mirror also doubled as a Social Gateway, connecting on-site customers with their friends via Live Peer-Peer Video for instant feedback on their looks. The pop-up welcomed several thousand guests who engaged in a new spontaneous and playful relationship with Lancôme. Facilitating a fluid experience and thoughtful interaction was the key to project’s success and recognition.
