How can a native online audio brand, amplify its identity in a physical retail environment? Working from the a basis of Sonos’s recognition as an acoustic tech lifestyle brand and taking cues from their incessant promotion of the arts, we translated a passion for high fidelity sound, simplicity and utility in to a symbiotic retail experience. While navigating the challenging task of reproducing acoustic fidelity in a crowded retail environment, we embraced a deeply collaborative process to inform aesthetic design decisions, materiality, layouts, spatial flow and modularity.

To appeal to audiophiles and neophytes alike, we tailored the store systems to reward discovery and interaction within expertly tuned listening rooms, while considering the layout as an experiential extension of the brand’s concerted effort to promote musicians and live performances. The success of the modularity and scalability of this emblematic acoustic retail space is informed by a strong contextual merchandising system, a convivial environment and service, and a rewarding interactive experience.
